Launch of Indonesia – Japan Cross-border payment interconnection (Japan Inbound)

Payments Japan Association (PJA) is advancing the JPQR Global initiative, which aims to enable Cross-border QR payment interconnection between JPQR, Japan’s unified standard for payment QR Codes, and the unified payment QR code standards of partner countries. We are delighted to announce the commencement of JPQR Global’s collaboration with QRIS, the unified payment QR code standard of Indonesia. Starting from today, the memorable Independence Day of Indonesia, travelers from Indonesia will be able to make payments at participating merchants in Japan using supporting Indonesian mobile apps.
